China’s Ministry of Commerce evaluates PhilSCAT TCP 2

With PhilSCAT to conclude its second phase of project implementation, the China’s Ministry of Commerce conducted an on-site evaluation and inspection on March 21-22, 2017 at PhilSCAT zeroing on the project’s accomplishments and impact to the Philippine rice farming sector.

The Inspection Team were experts comes from different prestigious universities in China, namely: Mr. Qiao Wei, Ms. Xu Li, Mr. Ti Shuihan, and Mr. Zhang Jian. Each were experts on the various commodities advocated by PhilSCAT particularly on hybrid rice and farm mechanization composed of Professors, Engineer, Finance Expert and Program Management Specialist.

The inspection team was commissioned by the Ministry of Commerce to conduct the project evaluation in the Philippines.

Dr. Emmanuel V. Sicat, PhilSCAT director, led the project briefing and exchange of views on March 21 at the PhilSCAT Conference Room together with the head of different divisions and units including Dr. Carlos, C. Abon Jr, Technology Products and Development Division chief; Dr. Victorino Taylan, head of the Agricultural Engineering and Mechanization Unit; and Maria Celia Fernando, head of the Planning and Evaluation Unit.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of Longping High Tech Agriculture Company Ltd., Mr. Yang Chunguo was also present during the project briefing and conveyed his appreciation to PhilSCAT in its commitment and dedication in providing and extending relevant Chinese technologies on rice farming to the Filipino farmers.

An on-site farm visitation and inspection at the PhilSCAT demonstration farms and Integrated Rice Processing and Production Center located in Llanera, Nueva Ecija was also done on March 22, 2017. PPBernal
